EN World Contest?

Just out of curiosity, is anyone entering into the EN World contest? I honestly can't think of a reason to be a part of it and I'm wondering if anyone out there can.

  1. I can think of a lot of reasons not to touch anything vitiated by ENWorld's involvement (and especially EN's) with an eleven foot pole. I love how the thing is to promote DNDNext and WotC specifically asks that you don't even include a stat block from the playtest packet. F them and the rust monster they rode in in on. The prize is a copy of something that touched the hem of some self-important internet troll who created a forum to lord over it and ran a KS to relaunch it as a paid service, signed by him & his catamites? If I won I'd burn it. OK, so spite would be one reason to participate. The only goodish reason I can think of to participate would be get the attention of ENWorld community, assuming for the moment that that *would* be a good thing. Well maybe just for exposure? Or because you want to use one of those maps (and only one, it looks like!) with permission? I like the "exploded" haunted house map but the dungeons look pretty linear.

If I write an adventure for a contest, it will be for the One Page Dungeon contest. Not sure I'll have time though.

    1. I think you should use this comment as inspiration for your "Dungeon of Pain and Rage." It'll be 420 pages long, have only three rooms to explore, 419 pages of reasons why EN World can suck your dick. I'd pay $4.95 for the PDF before you let the editor clean it up.

You know, this comment started off as a joke, but the more I think about it the more I think I'd love to see you write it. Bet it would be fantastic!

  2. Yes, my original comment started off as a joke too... I get carried away. But now I think I'll start a counter-contest to stock a map and have it judged by a panel of people who have permabans from ENWorld...

For the record I don't think I've ever even had a login, let alone posted to or been booted from ENWorld. I don't have real nerdrage about it, just sympathy pains from all the bellyaching about the site (and other forums). :)
