Goodbye James Wyatt, Hello James Wyatt.

James Wyatt announced on his facebook that he has left the Dungeons and Dragons team and has moved over to the Magic the Gathering team. I imagine that since Magic is one of the most profitable lines Hasbro owns that this means he's gone to a safer and more rewarding line to work on.

I'm incredibly sad to see him go as he was one of my favorites. That said, I hope it came with a raise and more vacation time!

  1. Hate to see him go, because he's an absolute fountain of creativity and ideas. I just hope they don't make this a trend by poaching all the best guys from the D&D side to work on Magic.

    1. I honestly think that a lot of the guys from D&D would rather work for the Magic group. Bigger budget, less turnover . . .

    2. I don't know about that. I know I'm not an insider or anything, but my reasoning is Magic's production schedule has to be nuts with the amount product they do churn out every month. I would think that the work load/stress level would be higher, considering that it is one of their best money makers.

    3. You could be right, but from my experiences you always want to go where the money is. That said, I've been wrong before!

  2. Magic is posting up some videos this week about the new set. Video one dropped on Monday. At the end of the video, there is a picture for the other two videos. One of them had James in it! I was excited to see him! He also wrote on of the story/chapters for the last set. Good stuff.

James leaving is a huge loss for the D&D team but a big boon to the Magic team.
