Blog Notes Q1, 2014

Since the beginning of the year I feel like I'm really beginning to hit my stride with the blog. While there are occasional days where I struggle to find anything to write about; more often than not, I find that there simply isn't enough time in the day to say everything I'd like.

Performance on Established Goals

Daily Posting Schedule:  One of my big goals for the blog in this upcoming year was to maintain a post a day ratio. Currently we are on day 98 of this year and this will be post 238. So that averages out to 2.5 posts a day, well above my goal.

Comment Response Time: I had originally sought to drop my response time down from an average of 96 hours to 1 hour. I find that is an unreasonable expectation on my part so I have adjusted this goal to a response time of 24 hours. So far I've been able to achieve this on most occasions.

Statistics of Note

         | Posts | Comments | Google +1s | Page Views |
January  |   74  |    321   |     559    |   10,794   |
February |   62  |    342   |     504    |    8,608   |  Total Views  |
March    |   68  |    429   |     704    |   11,585   |     21,276    |

Days Without a Post | 2

My page views are a little bit off because I only factored in the views that occurred on posts that were published during each individual month and not the total number of views that occurred on each day as I have a lot of posts that continue to receive traffic months after they were originally posted.

  2. I don't try for a post a day . . . I can't.

I write. I'm involved in 5 on-line games. I have favorite blogs -- like this one -- that I try to follow. Add to that all the Goggle+ messages in my Inbox and, well, there aren't THAT many hours in the day!

At present, I'm going to try for a post a week.

Hope you continue to succeed in your goals!

    1. I don't know how you're able to play five online games a week. I can barely keep myself straight when I'm in two, let alone five. I don't even know how you have time to comment let alone post once a week.
