Yesterday I discovered that Wizards of the Coast had launched a new website for Dungeons and Dragons. While the old site was functional it wasn't something that anyone should be crowing about. This new one though, this thing is a lot easier to navigate - so far.
The Good
* Nice visual presentation
* Much, much, much easier to read
* Absolutely love the "Current Story" option under the "New to D&D" tab. Haven't figured out how to link to it yet, but that's a me problem.
* Way easier to navigate the archive.
The Bad
* Cumbersome to search (early days of exploring the site though)* Not really a fan of the way things appear with the rotating wheel of articles but I suspect that it will grow on me.
So what do you guys think of it?
It's not bad, there have been way worse versions of the D&D site back in the day. I still haven't browsed their forums in ages though.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really found the forums to be all that exciting. Lots of stuff on the new edition but not a lot of staff guys posting there. I don't know why that surprised me, but it did.
DeleteWhile I like in general the new site, I'm not crazy about the big picture they use for the links at the bottom of the pages, seem too bulky and make it all too flashy.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the community page I'm definitely uncomfortable with those big blue boxes and I'm neutral for the forum in general ... I do not like forum, I am still of the old guard and I remember with pleasant sadness the newsgroups. ;)
I haven't problem with "Current Story" ;)
Yeah, they're going to take some getting used to for sure.
