"have you added classic shell or some such overlay to make it work better?"
No, I generally like 8. The problem is that it has functionality problems with things like microphones. It's just frustrating trying to get it to work when there's no reason for it not to work. :(
It will be quite some time before they actually come out with an "improved" system. You can't fix something that's not actually broken.
They just keep adding more and more crap to a system that already worked. It's the only way to get you to spend money on something you don't need.
I'm willing to bet that you'll never use half of the systems associated with your Windows 8. I don't buy things I don't need. Like Jim Haltom said, until I lose ALL support, I'll stick with what I've got.
Still on 7, and will remain so until either it loses all support, or something better than 8 comes out. :P
ReplyDeleteI generally like 8 except for when it comes to trying to get certain programs to function as I want. Then it can be a bear.
Deletehave you added classic shell or some such overlay to make it work better?
ReplyDeleteI use Start7 or Start8, I forget what it's called. Love it. Makes 8 look and act like 7. I haven't upgraded to 8.1 just in case it dispels the magic.

DeleteReally? Okay, I'm going to have to look into that.

I only went with 8 because my computer crashed. Otherwise I'd still be using 7.
DeleteAs Jim Haltom I'm again with Win7 and no one, at moment, will be able to convince me to move to Win8! ;)
ReplyDeleteI still miss 95!
